Jimmy Cairney
Jimmy Cairney is one of the driving forces behind Unltd Select, serving as both a Program Director and the 2030 Black Head Coach. A former collegiate defenseman at St. Joe's, Jimmy has a passion for developing young athletes and building a first-class culture. Jimmy has played a key role in shaping the vision of the program. His commitment to player development, attention to detail, and high standards have helped create an environment where athletes are challenged to improve every day while enjoying the process.
As a coach, Jimmy emphasizes fundamentals, lacrosse IQ, competitiveness, and accountability. He believes that success is built through consistent effort, disciplined practice habits, and a team-first mentality. His practices are fast-paced, organized, and designed to help every player continue developing the skills and confidence needed to compete at a high level.
Beyond the field, Jimmy is dedicated to building meaningful relationships with players and families. He understands that great coaching extends beyond wins and losses, and he takes pride in helping young athletes grow as teammates, leaders, and individuals. His passion for the game, commitment to excellence, and player-first approach make him an invaluable leader and a cornerstone of the Unltd Select program.
Assistant Coach
Jacob Giacalone
Jacob Giacalone brings high-level playing experience, leadership, and a true passion for developing goalies to Unltd Select. A former standout at Sachem North High School and Johns Hopkins University, Jacob has competed at the highest levels of lacrosse and understands what it takes to succeed both on and off the field.
At Sachem North, Jacob was a three-year starting goalie, a two-time All-Suffolk County selection, Suffolk Goalie of the Year, and an Under Armour All-American. He finished his high school career with over 570 saves while helping lead Sachem North to multiple deep playoff runs.
Jacob continued his career at nationally ranked Johns Hopkins University, where he trained and competed within one of the most respected programs in college lacrosse. His experience playing against the best players in the country gives him valuable insight into the technical, mental, and leadership aspects of the goalie position.
Known for his calm demeanor, strong communication skills, and detailed approach to the position, Jacob is committed to helping young goalies build confidence, improve fundamentals, and develop into complete players.
Assistant Coach
Danny Desanti
Danny DeSanti brings elite playing experience and a passion for player development to Unltd Select. Danny was a standout defenseman and long-stick midfielder at St. Anthony's High School, where he served as team captain and earned CHSAA All-League honors.
Danny attended the United States Military Academy at West Point, where he played three seasons for Army. Danny later transferred to Hofstra University to complete his collegiate career, where he continued to make an impact on the field as a long-stick midfielder.
As a coach, Danny is committed to helping players develop strong fundamentals, high lacrosse IQ, and the work ethic needed to compete at the highest levels. His experience playing for nationally recognized programs gives athletes firsthand insight into what it takes to succeed in high school, college, and beyond.

Luke Mangan
Luke Mangan brings energy, passion, and a relentless commitment to player development to Unltd Select. As a 2030 Coach and JV Coach at Sachem North High School, Luke is dedicated to helping young athletes build confidence, sharpen their skills, and develop the habits necessary to compete at the highest level. His enthusiasm for the game and ability to connect with players create an environment where athletes are motivated to improve every day.
A former standout midfielder at St. John's University, Luke competed at one of the highest levels of college lacrosse. His experience as a Division I athlete gave him a deep understanding of the game's fundamentals, preparation, and the work ethic required to succeed. He brings those lessons directly into every practice, challenging players to push themselves while building a strong team culture based on accountability, discipline, and effort.
Luke believes that player development extends far beyond stick skills. His coaching philosophy emphasizes lacrosse IQ, communication, leadership, and doing the little things that separate good players from great ones. He is committed to creating a positive, competitive environment where athletes are encouraged to take risks, learn from mistakes, and continually grow both on and off the field.
Whether coaching at Sachem North or with Unltd Select, Luke's goal remains the same: to help every player reach their full potential while fostering a lifelong love for the game. His knowledge, passion, and dedication make him an outstanding mentor and an invaluable member of the Unltd Select coaching staff.
